You know how everything's a "journey" these days? and not just catching the bus to work/school/Lidl/magistrates court? Well here's my wetsuit repair "journey"... A cold February Sunday dinghy sailing on a gravel pit next to the M3/M25 (hardly idyllic, but whatever floats your boat). Cold bum for two hours after a too much wind stupid capsize tells me the seat of my made to measure and much used suit is finally past it. Don't want to land-fill. Get home, google "independent wetsuit repairs", scroll down the list and see North Coast Wetsuits. Seems to fit my "if possible avoid corporate giants" preference, so bung off a "can you fix it" email plus photos late that sunday evening. Now.... before 09:00 am the next morning they reply. Quick exchange of messages, agree to repair but upgrade the seat to higher wear resistant. They know what's needed for my type of use... Suit in post by that monday lunch time. Tracking tells me when postman Pat does his stuff, so I ping an email asking for a rough estimate of turn around... Two working days later suit is on way back. Must be down hill from Cornwall (looks up hill on my 1965 school atlas) because Pat gets it here in two days. Repair quality excellent. Really excellent. Neat and better/stronger than original. All costs agreed in terms of materials and time. so... I was just a random Googler with a wet bum... But these people were just great... Superfast, I mean ridiculously fast, replies to emails. Knowlegable about my type of use and needs, quality repair, fast turn around, and I'm very happy with the price and most of all that I'm not just bunging my old suit in a bin. I'm not on commission or any sort of kickback, but feel the need to praise great service like this. So my journey ends this Sunday, when back in a gravel pit just off the M3/M25 I'll be pretending I'm half my age and hoping for too much wind... but with a comfy bum. Enjoy your sport! They managed to save my wetsuit which had an extremely stuck back zip where I had given up myself! Mark was very quick at responding to emails, offered great advice and the repair was so reasonably priced.
