Windsurf foiling – with NCW’s 5/3mm backzip wetsuit.

Windsurf foiling is wholesome good fun. There’s a misconception that for freeride foiling it’s all about the wing these days. and whilst we’re also big fans of wing foiling we also love a bit of foil action with a sail.

A recent windsurf foiling session can be seen in the accompanying pics. On this day the weather was warm with plenty of milky sunshine. A marginal 12-15 knots, offshore wind was blowing. Anyone with any degree of windsurfing know how will be aware of how frustrating conditions like this can be – on fin. But with a foil attached it was a no brainer.

This was also an opportunity to nab a few more pics, in windsurf foiling mode, of the NCW 5/3mm back zip wetsuit. And a pleasant session was had by all accounts. Whilst we didn’t need such a thick rubber suit it still proved its worth by not overheating the rider yet providing plenty of protection. Flexibility when required was also on point – windsurfing in general needs freedom of upper body movement.

We’ll also add the Challenger Sails Konda 5.3m sail was doing a sterling job of powering us up to foiling height in such flukey winds. Challenger Sails are also available through NCW’s website. Check ’em out if you’re looking for performance windsurf sails with Italian flare.
