Autumn: the best season for watersports – warm water, warm (ish) air temps and less crowds.

Summer 2020 is officially done. And it’s been a strange one to say the least. We won’t bang on about the details as everyone’s aware. Suffice to say with autumn now officially in attendance things should (in theory) calm down – at least in terms of crowds!

If you’re a watersports nut loving ‘conditions’ then autumn’s the best season for our UK neck of the woods. There’s more chance to score a solid wave, a decent blow and water/air temperatures still remain relatively high. In fact, right up until around October we’ll get the odd days of warmth with mercury levels up in the 20s. It can be autumnal at times as well but by and large it’s definitely the most enjoyable time of year. Oh, and did we mention the crowds – or rather, lack of them…

All this being said you still need adequate ruberised protection if you’re heading for a float. Wind chill and evaporative cooling still need to be taken into account. Too little neoprene – or even none at all – can result in the chill taking its toll. Nobody wants to end up in dire straits so best to make sure you’ve the correct gear for the job in hand.

Here at NCW we have the right stuff for all your watery needs. We’ve just taken delivery of O’Shea’s Prisma full 3/2mm wetsuits which are bob on for the deal price listed. Plus, Typhoon’s Vortex, Kona and Storm suits are on all on offer – both men’s and women’s.

So don’t be left sitting on the beach this autumn. Get yourself some decent rubber and get involved. Give us a shout with any questions.
