May half term 2023 weather awesomeness!

May half term begins at the end of this week for many. As the schools break up there’ll no doubt be a mass exodus to those favourite corners of the UK – often coastal. Cornwall, Devon, Wales, the south coast and so on will see their fair share of visitors. Other locations in the NE, NW, Scotland and further afield will all become busy busy. And the great news is the weather’s looking awesome (fingers crossed)!

At the risk of jinxing things (as let’s be honest: nothing’s ever guaranteed with Mother Nature) that Azores High is doing its thing. Sunshine, blue skies and warmth – maybe with a tad high wispy cloud – is the general order of the day. And with that plenty of reasons to head to the beach.

May half term weather forecast 2023 – sunny and warm!

May half term weather at NCW Towers.

Many of our regular customers will know of our location. St. Endellion is close to Port Isaac, Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Trebawarith. Padstow isn’t far away. Nor is Harlyn and that area. These are all cracking locations with more to discover if you feel like investigating.

Checking our local forecast and the conditions are sublime (see pic above). Sublime today and sublime for the foreseeable. As it stands there’s a tiny wave this morning at Polzeath (keep an eye on the webcam). This’ll probably start to fade. Although at certain stages of tide during the coming days you may get lucky. But that shouldn’t deter anyone as there’s plenty of watersports opportunity beside surfing.

When the sun shines, and it’s warm, is there any better place to be?

Visiting the area during half term.

This half term is a perfect time to get away. Regardless of surf, other options include wild swimming, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and general beach frolicking. For those into windy stuff you may get a windsurf or wing foil session in the bag – especially at Rock or Daymer. Just watch the tides there!

For the land based outdoor adventurer, there’re the coastal footpaths and moors just a short drive away. And just as with watersports good weather brings plenty of reason to get outside, away from the screens and enjoy the outdoors. Or perhaps you fancy cruising on four wheels skateboard style.

If windy sports are your bag you may snag a few sessions this May half term.
