It’s been a hectic summer that’s for sure at NCW’s Rubber Shack. But that doesn’t mean we stop evolving. For a while now we’ve been looking at new NCW wetsuits and working through prototypes. NCW’s SUP team rider Dave Ludgate (aka Subowti) has been helping us.
Summer doesn’t always mean pumping waves, that much is true. But every now and again you can pick off some nugs. Ireland in particular has a high probability of enticing swell. Just recently Dave scored a little pulse (his first since COVID lockdown restrictions were eased). It was the perfect opportunity to try NCW’s new 3/2mm GBS suit.
It was also a chance for DL to take a small break from his never ending waste clearance mission. For those not aware Dave uses his SUP to rid Cork Harbour and surrounding waterways of rubbish and plastic waste. His stand up paddle board makes a good platform to haul his collection back to shore and dispose of environmentally. But even eco-warrior SUP heads need a wave or two…
