SUP ’22: the seeking for adventure (with your stand up paddle board).

As 2021’s summer season draws to a close we’re now starting to see some 2022 stand up paddle boards on the ground. And with the last 18 months or so being bumper for new new paddling blood coming into the fold all eyes are lasered in on how to keep the engagement and help riders progress.

Adventure SUP has started to take over the term coined back in the day ‘touring SUP’. Having an adventure aboard your stand up paddle sled is the way forward, (also a much better description than touring SUP). And we don’t mean tackling the Yukon River (or any other kind of full on waterway – unless you fancy it of course). We’re talking investigating what’s round the next bend; heading off for a family picnic over yonder; perhaps paddling a few hours to a sweet little camping spot or any other kind of adventure you can think of using your SUP.

Under the bridge – adventure SUP style.

For most newbies the humble 10’6 inflatable stand up paddle board will have been the go to sled this summer. For true adventure paddling, however, a more applicable platform (such as the 2022 Mistral Adventurist in the accompanying images) will simply give you more… More glide, more paddling efficiency, more carrying capacity, more fun and all for less effort! Which ain’t no bad thing…

What’s round the next bend? Adventure SUP seeking…

If you’ve been thinking about upgrading or adding to your stand up paddle boarding quiver then now’s the time to start taking note of what’s incoming. Adventure SUP is how to maximise your time afloat without going towards the extreme end of the sport (SUP surfing, white water SUP and so on). And NCW will be listing applicable stand up paddle boarding hardware suited to the adventure SUP style of riding in the coming months. We already have our other products which more than match the adventurous spirit of the stand up paddle boarder…Stay tuned for more.
