At time of writing the Sills twins (Saski & Imogen) from Cornwall’s very own Plymouth are riding high in the IQ Foil World Champs at Lake Silvaplana, Switzerland. As part of the Engadinwind event the IG Foil World’s made its debut in 2020 and is back for 2021. The lake’s thermal driven Maloja wind has been in effect giving enough puff for some exciting windfoil racing and the ladies windfoiling fleet is a stand out!

With Saski Sills currently sitting in second place (as of Aug 20, 2021), above teammate Islay Watson, and twin sis Imogen in 14th the Cornish windsurfing girls are all putting on an epic display of windsurf foil racing. (If you’re not sure what windsurf foiling is – windfoiling for short – then check this article out).

Other Team GBR women in the event include Alice Read, Jennie Roberts and Alysia Gibson who are all gritting teeth and doing amazing things for women’s windsurfing and windfoiling over in Silvaplana, Switzerland.

With two more days of IQ Foil competition scheduled anything could happen, depending on the wind Gods’ moods and how the lady’s performance on the water goes. One thing’s for sure women’s competitive windfoiling in the UK is bright with plenty more riders coming through the ranks.

Good luck to all taking on the Engadinwind 2021! For more info, stories and results check out the IQ Foil Class World’s website here. And don’t forget to have a nose at NCW’s windsurfing products page and knowledge space via the links below –
