The flattest water ever! Testing NCW’s 3/2mm full wetsuit with GBS seams in windsurf mode (30/07/21).

Sometimes windsurfers want a wave. Sometimes they fancy challenging themselves with choppy waters. Maybe a light wind session could be on the cards. Or possibly something of all the aforementioned. A lot of windsurfers love flat water though. But scoring idyllically flat conditions – like mirror flat yet still windy – is super tricky. You need the right state of tide, a particularly sheltered from chop spot or the planets aligning to deliver once in a blue moon windsurfing conditions like what’s on show in the vids below.

Here at NCW – as many of you know – we do a lot of prototyping and testing of gear. Especially our own branded NCW wetsuits. The new NCW 3/2mm full wetsuit with glued and blind stitched seams has been listed in NCW’s webshop for a few weeks. Today (30/07/21) we got to give it a run out – for the first time – in windsurfing mode.

Off the back of today’s session there was a bunch of GoPro video footage captured which we’ve used on the site. Here you can see both vids of the NCW 3/2mm full wetsuit being put through its paces on what is some of the flattest water – bearing in mind the strength of the wind (force 8) – that’s been sailed in a while. Suffice to say that the new NCW wetsuit worked a treat and much fulfillment was had via the windsurfing.
