We all want it! A decent start to the new summer season that is. At least as far as weather goes. With winter slowly drawing to an end (thankfully for many) and COVID restrictions easing a tad there’s incentive to get outdoors and start making the most of the wide blue yonder.
At time of writing the clocks are set to change this weekend, signalling longer days with more light into the evening. Then Easter Bank Holiday arrives early with yet more expectation for good conditions.

Note: NCW does trade ins of ALL used wetsuits – kiddy suits included. If you’re looking to upgrade your child’s wetsuit, and have a pre-loved one you’re replacing, then get in touch. We can probably part exchange or buy your used wetsuit outright.
NOTE : Chest zip suits are top entry via the shoulder width of the suit and you have to pull the neck envelope over your head to zip closed. If your child has issues with tight fitting garments this may not be the suit for you. Even kids that may not initially like this style of wetsuit entry tend to get on fine with it once they have used the suit a few times. The benefit of the chest zip wetsuit performance, for most, outweigh getting used to putting it on. NCW kid’s winter suits are 5mm throughout the wetsuit where as many winter wetsuits are 5mm and 3mm. As a result, this means our winter wetsuit is often found to be much warmer but they still have plenty of flex because they are made from super stretch neoprene. The special blend of neoprene we use in our kids winter wetsuits is soft and comfortable super stretch which kids are happy to wear whilst giving a warm and snug fit.

Currently, there’s a signal for a considerably warm spell to hit the UK in the next few days. Possibly, as some predictions suggest, the March record of 25.6C being under threat. This’ll be welcome no doubt but don’t count your chickens just yet! Apparently, it’ll only last a few days before we return to colder conditions. In fact, the follow on weather could see the coolest start to April for some time, which won’t be welcome!
It should be remembered we can still have snow in parts of the UK right up until June (ish). And we’ve already spoken about water temperatures being at their coldest this time of year in this article. So in no way are we out of the woods yet in terms of wintry weather. This said we’re still on an upwards trajectory with things definitely improving.
If we do manage to bust out the suntan oil next week then just make sure your winter woolies are to hand…You may still need them!
